Location was great but everything else was not.
To pick up the key a couple of blocks away is nothing compared to everything else in the hotel (which is above an ugly bar). It's not cheaper than better hotels around; the city is not that big and almost every hotel is very well located.

There is no hotel named da Vinci I Leiden. There is a sloppy anonymous accommodation on the address, offering rooms without any facilitities, extremely overpriced.
Without any facilities, extremely overpriced.

Alternative to Amsterdam for travelers in transit from Schipol. Location near train station and on market square.
Having to go to reception 1/2 km away, with confusing instructions; breakfast not included

very difficult parking and the 2 locations was confusing. Staff was quick to fix problems but things were not in place (baby cots) when we arrived. We ended up staying at the main location but the 2nd location looked a bit rough from the outside.

Location, staff were friendly, room was clean.
There was no reception in the hotel - only in another hotel.

Nothing. It was disgusting.
Everything. I made a serious complaint about the service and facilities. This hotel should not be allowed to operate as a business.

I liked the location, very convenient, but the place was not cleaned, very poor in general... I could say a very well located crack house.
cleanliness ... zero, floor not swept, no hangers on the waredrobe, tv didnt work properly, old tv holding the newer tv that didn´t work neither, just surrealistic things, a bit of crack house feeling.

The wifi internet access was and there was no trash bin on the room and neither on the toilet.

Just the position
All furniture looked as taken from a dump, the floor was really dirty, the shower showed 10 years incrustations as it has never been cleaned properly and on the wall behind the bed there was a disgusting greasy spot. No room for legs in the shared toilet, which was not cleaned on the daily basis... Terrible toilet bowl!! Way too expensive for what it offers.

Really just rooms rented out by a nearby bar. No reception, just a bunch of keys, come and go as you please. Large room, basic but clean and comfortable. Town centre location but not noisy at night.

The location is perfect. The building is old but quite ok to stay over couple of nights.
the hall smells a bit funny

The whole place had a very friendly feel, the people that run it are the most friendly we have come across in our holidays across Europe. The rooms are basic but clean. We will definately go back again.

Good and polite staff.
They have just started to be a hotel. The facilities is bad, a bot dirty, and if I compare with there price, it is a bit expensive.

Excellent location. Staff very friendly
The experience was a bit surrealistic, starting with a handwritten invoice filled in at the bar (there is no reception) since they ask for payment upon arrival. The rooms were dirty. No towels in one of them. At night started to rain and the roof started to leak. Crossing the street there was a live music concert which finished at midnight but there was quite a noisy crowd until 3 am. In the morning there was no staff and we were asked to leave the room keys in. Clearly the location is great but the hotel could be a lot better managed and looked after with a little of interest, but definitely is far way expensive for what it provides. Leiden as a city is really worth visiting but we will not stay at the Hotel da Vinci again.

The only good thing about the hotel is that is very close to the train station, but that´s about it.
The smell in the hole building is really unpleasant, it comes from the bar downstairs. A mixture of cigar and garbage. The room was not totally clean, there is dust everywhere. The toilette is outside so you have to share it with the other guests, and it was dirty and ashes from cigar were everywhere. When you do the check in, you do it in this bar and all the data its written down in a simple notebook, and there is no receive from the money you paid or something that says that you stayed here. In my opinion the price is very high for what they have to offer.
